Chapter 14 - TRENT CHANGES HIS STORY

Story One:

Sylvia fell.

Story Two:

I grabbed her because she was storming down unsafe stairs.

Story Three:

I tried to catch her.

Camera clip showed his hand on my upper arm before I moved toward the stairs.

Not enough to show direction of force.

Then the townhouse guard.

He heard:

“Let go.”

Then impact.

Then me:

“You pulled me.”

He did not see the fall.

Corroboration.

Not perfect.

Then Trent’s text to me twenty-three minutes later:

I’m sorry I grabbed you. I never meant for you to fall.

There.

Not:

I caught you.

Not:

You slipped before I touched you.

His attorney argued:

Grab does not prove intentional push.

Correct.

The prosecution eventually agreed.

The strongest criminal theory was reckless or intentional physical restraint leading to injury, not attempted murder or some invented staircase homicide.

Accuracy mattered.

Then bathroom.

Much cleaner.

Video showed Trent striking door repeatedly.

Me inside.

His own words caught by hallway audio:

“Give me the phone.”

Then:

“Nobody is coming for you.”

Then the door breaking.

May you like

Then Alessio pulling him away.

No mystery.
