Greg Dalton was thirty-seven.
Property manager.
Lived with Martha and Caleb for almost two years.
No criminal convictions.
One dismissed domestic-disturbance call from a previous relationship.
No restraining orders.
Nothing dramatic enough to announce itself.
The original emergency note listed:
Mother present.
Mother’s partner present.
Gregory Dalton.
Mechanism:
Fall from backyard play structure after climbing where instructed not to.
Caleb had supposedly fallen six feet.
Yet the triage nurse documented:
Child initially states “Greg twisted me.”
Then note:
Patient later clarifies Greg caught him during fall.
That change mattered.
Who was in room when statement changed?
