Chapter 18 - THE STORAGE UNIT

Greg’s storage unit contained more than fake invoices.
Old medical braces.
Unused therapy equipment.
Printer paper bearing clinic logos.
Prescription templates.
A cast saw.
That detail frightened everyone.
Had he removed Caleb’s cast before?
Caleb said no.
Then investigators found photographs.
His ankle injury the previous year.
A removable boot.
Greg had photographed swelling from angles that exaggerated severity.
Submitted claims for specialized rehabilitation.
No rehab occurred.
The injuries were becoming financial content.
Still, the central question remained:
Were they causing injuries for money?
Evidence on earlier incidents was insufficient.
Current fracture was different.
Caleb remembered clearly.
Greg grabbed his wrist during an argument over a locked desk.
Caleb pulled away.
Greg twisted the arm behind him.
Caleb fell.
The bone broke.
Greg told Martha:
“He fell because he fights.”
Martha looked at the visibly deformed arm.
Then helped create the tree story.

That was not passive neglect.
That was concealment.
