Chapter 19 - THEO

Theo met Micah again when both therapists agreed.
Theo was seven.
Micah six.
Neutral room.
No Lorraine.
No Sabrina.
Ryan nearby.
I stayed outside.
The boys remembered each other.
Theo spoke first.
“I’m sorry Grandma made you floor.”
Micah looked at him.
“You gave banana.”
Theo nodded.
That was what Micah remembered.
Not cake.
Not true heir.
Banana.
They played cars.
Ten minutes.
Then Micah asked:
“Are you Keller?”
Theo shrugged.
“My dad is Ryan.”
“Okay.”
The entire adult war over blood meant almost nothing to them.
Theo later struggled with identity.
For years adults told him he was special because he belonged to Graham.
Then tests said no.
Therapy helped.
Ryan did not call Sabrina a liar in front of him.
He explained:
“Adults were confused and made harmful choices.”
Later, when Theo was older, truth became more detailed.
No child needed paternity humiliation as punishment.
Micah and Theo never became brothers.
They became occasional friends.
Then less as schools changed.

That was fine.
Not every shared trauma requires lifelong bond.
