Chapter 12 - MY FATHER’S TRUST

My father, Edward Sterling, had distrusted private family management more than I realized.

He left Sophia a protected trust.

Independent corporate trustee:

North Coast Fiduciary.

No direct Victoria control.

Family liaison:

Me.

Backup:

Victoria.

If I died?

Victoria became liaison.

Not trustee.

Still influence.

After Switzerland, somebody sent North Coast a death notification.

Mine.

False.

North Coast requested certified death certificate.

Never received.

So no change.

Good controls.

But somebody tried.

Email came from:

Sterling Family Management legal desk.

Signed:

Malcolm Reed.

Why?

Malcolm claimed Victoria instructed him to “prepare contingency notices.”

Victoria denied telling him I was dead.

The truth was fragmenting among employees.
