Chapter 26 - WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HOUSE

I sold the Portland house.
Not immediately.
After evidence release.
After Sophie moved.
After I spent one final night there.
I walked upstairs.
Pulled down the attic ladder.
The wardrobe was gone.
Police returned it after trial.
I donated nothing.
Destroyed it.

Dennis had tried to claim tenant rights during civil proceedings.
His forged lease failed.
Trust reimbursements tied to the address became part of restitution.
The sale proceeds were mine.
I placed a portion into a separate education account for Sophie—not because she needed money, but because I wanted to give something that did not require her trauma to qualify.
Kara initially refused.
Then said:
“Make it normal.”
So I did.
Fixed amount.
Same account I later created for any future grandchildren if they came.
