Chapter 24 - SOPHIE GOES HOME

Not immediately.

Kara received expanding parenting time over sixteen months.

Supervised.

Then daytime.

Then weekends.

Then trial placement.

Sophie remained temporarily with a licensed kinship foster family near Portland because Rebecca? There was no suitable paternal relative except me.

I applied.

At sixty-seven, with no child in my home for decades, I was approved for emergency kinship care after evaluation.

Sophie lived with me for nine months.
