Chapter 21 - TRISHA’S PLEA
Trisha faced child-endangerment and confinement-related charges.
She did not know Sophie was Kara’s child.
She did know she was five.
She helped place her upstairs.
She knew no adult would return for days.
She knew the water was inadequate.
Her attorney argued Dennis controlled the situation.
Evidence showed emotional pressure.
Also active choices.
Trisha eventually pleaded to offenses reflecting child endangerment and participation in confinement.
At sentencing she said:
“I thought she was proof my husband humiliated me.”
The judge asked:
“What was she?”
Trisha looked down.
“A child.”
