Elena and I stayed married.
Not because betrayal always leads to stronger love.

Read documents.
Went to therapy.
Shared calendars.

Kept independent counsel where interests diverged.
Built direct communication with Lila.
Argued.
Apologized.
Slept in separate rooms for months.
Returned gradually.
Elena never became close to Mercer relatives who defended Estelle.
Some relationships remained polite.
Some ended.
Arthur remained family by choice.
Crown Harbor existed in the background.
Mercer Hospitality professionalized.
I eventually became COO again? Better: I had operations role. At fifty, I became CEO after independent search. Could be nepotism concerns.
I competed in an external search with two outside candidates.
Board chose me.
Elena asked:
