Chapter 18 - DANIEL LEAVES THE MARLOW BOARD
Daniel sat on Marlow Hotels’ board.
His mother remained a major shareholder.
After the incident, he resigned temporarily.
Not because Tessa demanded it.
Because every board meeting had become family theater.
He told me:
“I don’t know if I’m abandoning my mother.”
I answered:
“You can stop working beside someone without deciding whether you love them.”
He stared.
Then:
“That sounded almost healthy.”
“Do not spread it around.”
He laughed.
First time in weeks.
Daniel kept his shares.
His mother kept hers.
No corporate coup.
No transfer to Tessa.
No Greco takeover.
He later returned only after the board adopted independent governance rules around family conflicts.
Tessa did not become a Marlow director.
She did not want it.
June’s surname stayed Marlow.
