Lisa finally filed a complaint about my slap.
Fair.
I had hit her.
The video and witness statements showed she struck Owen first.
That did not automatically justify my retaliation after Owen was safe.
My lawyer negotiated a misdemeanor diversion resolution.
Anger-management counseling.
Community service.
Dismissal after completion if I stayed out of trouble.
I accepted.
People told me:
“You shouldn’t have. She deserved it.”
No.
I wanted Owen to learn something better.
Lisa’s assault on him was handled separately.
Minor injury.
No prior criminal history.
She received consequences through a plea on a lower-level assault-related count plus child-contact restrictions during the broader family case.
Not prison theater.
