Chapter 16 - THE LETTER QUILLON NEVER GOT

The estate never found Dad’s separate letter to me.

Morgause denied taking it.

No proof.

We did not accuse.

Then Naomi discovered something simpler.

Dad had dictated a draft into his phone notes.

Not a secret audio confession.

A text note.

Quillon—

I need to tell you what I saw at Morgause’s house.

Then details.

Same as Eluned’s letter.

Then:

Do not make this about whether Morgause helped you. Help does not buy authority over a child.

That sentence hurt.

Then:

You need another childcare plan.

Then:

I should have told you sooner that I have been worried about the way she talks about Eluned’s needs.

No accusation of hidden crimes.

No new villain.

Just a father trying too late to reach his son.

The phone note was timestamped eight hours before his death.

I sat with it for a long time.

Then printed it.

Not for court first.

For myself.

Dad was not perfect.

He had noticed.

Waited.

Confronted.

Planned.

Then died.

No one got to turn him into a saint because he left good words.

May you like

He still wished he had spoken sooner.

So did I.
