Chapter 13 - CERYS SAYS NO

Cerys started counseling too.
Owen arranged it.
Not because she was dangerous.
Because she had watched her mother fall after I slapped her.
Because she had watched Eluned kneel by her shoes.
Because school rumors had reached her.
Then one controlled cousin visit.
Cerys told Eluned:
“My mom says Grandpa liked you more.”
Eluned frowned.
“Did he?”
Cerys looked at me.
I stayed out.
Eluned answered herself.
“He liked both.”
Good.
Then Cerys said:
“Mom says people always help you.”
Eluned touched her new purple frames.
“Because I need glasses.”
“I know.”
Then:
“I don’t want you to clean my shoes.”
“Good.”
They both laughed.
One layer removed.
Then Owen told me:
“Morgause asked Cerys to write a letter saying Eluned liked helping.”
My stomach tightened.
“Did she?”
“No.”
Good.
Owen had intervened.
Morgause later claimed she wanted Cerys to describe facts.
Maybe.
But asking a seven-year-old to help defend the adult case was inappropriate.
Owen requested a temporary family-court order:
Neither parent discusses litigation with Cerys or asks her to provide statements outside professional interviews.
Granted.
Not custody removal.
Not dramatic.
A boundary.
Then Morgause accused me of turning Owen against her.

I did not answer.
Some conflicts do not need replies.
