Chapter 6 - THE VIDEO OPENS

The warrant authorized investigators to access the relevant video, related metadata, communications around the incident, and other recordings reasonably connected to the alleged assault and suspected medication issue.
Not Adrian’s entire life.
The staircase video was seven minutes and forty-two seconds.
Police let Lucia and her lawyer view it before I did.
I did not have a right to evidence simply because I was her father.
Lucia later asked me to watch a copy with her attorney.
I sat beside her.
At the beginning, the phone was propped on the console.
Lucia stood near the stairs.
Adrian entered behind her.
Exactly as the thumbnail showed.
He said:
“Tell me what you took.”
Lucia:
“Nothing.”
“You can barely stand.”
“I’m tired.”
“You were fine an hour ago.”
“I had tea.”
A pause.
Adrian looked directly toward the phone.
Not accidental recording.
He knew it was running.
Then:
“You said you wanted to leave me.”
Lucia:
“I said I wanted to stay with Dad for a few days.”
Adrian:
“Same thing.”
“No.”
Then he moved closer.
Lucia held the railing.
“You’re doing this again.”
“What?”
“Filming me.”
“Because tomorrow you’ll deny how unstable you are.”
Lucia turned.
“I’m not unstable.”
Then something changed in her face.
She blinked slowly.
Pressed one hand to the wall.
Adrian said:
“See?”
Lucia:
“Why do I feel like this?”
He did not answer.
She tried to move down one step.
Then turned back toward him.
“You put something in my tea.”
Adrian laughed.
“You sound insane.”
Lucia:
“Don’t call me that.”
She moved toward the landing.
Adrian followed.
The push happened in less than a second.
His right hand struck high between her shoulder and upper back.
Not an accidental brush.
Not an attempt to catch her.
A forward shove.
Lucia fell.
The sound of her body hitting steps made Elena? no, Lucia herself watching the video turn away.
I almost stood.
Her attorney said:
“Sit.”
I did.
The video continued.
That mattered.
Adrian did not immediately run to her.
For four seconds he stood at the top.
Looked toward the phone.
Then descended.
Lucia cried:
“You pushed me.”
Adrian said:
“You slipped.”
She repeated:
“You pushed me.”
Then he picked up the phone.
Recording ended.
No cinematic confession.
No explanation.
Just a shove followed by a lie.
It established the staircase betrayal.
May you like
It did not yet prove what was in the tea.
That would take more.
