Lucia had never signed Adrian’s voting proxy.
That mattered.
The document was not forged.
No fake signature.
No secret transfer.
Adrian repeatedly pushed her to sign.
She repeatedly refused.
Why did the proxy matter?
Morelli Family Holdings was preparing to vote on selling a minority interest in a distribution company.
Victor favored the sale.
I opposed.
Lucia had not decided.
Her twenty-two percent could influence the outcome when combined with other family votes.
Adrian told her:
“You shouldn’t have to deal with corporate nonsense while pregnant.”
Lucia answered:
“I can vote while pregnant.”

“You’re exhausted.”
She:
“Still mine.”
Then the first dizziness episode happened two days later.
Correlation is not proof.
But investigators mapped the pattern.
Each episode occurred near a significant conversation:
Proxy.
Postpartum estate planning.
Divorce threat.
Family vote.
No need turn that into five separate conspiracies.
One motive:
Adrian wanted Lucia easier to control in a period when her legal and family decisions mattered.
Not because he could automatically inherit her shares.
He could not.
Not because Victor would become owner.
He would not.
Leverage.
That was enough.
Then Morelli board.
I recused myself from any decision involving Lucia’s temporary voting arrangements.
Why?
Conflict.
Lucia appointed an independent fiduciary adviser for one pending vote while she recovered.
She still made the final decision herself.
No father taking over.
No husband.
No family council.
She voted against the Costa-supported sale.
Not as revenge.
After reviewing valuation.
The sale failed narrowly.
