Chapter 13 - THE TEMPORARY PROTECTIVE ORDER

Claire filed for a protective order.

Her name.

Not mine.

I paid her attorney?

She refused.

She used her own account.

That surprised my mother.

It should not have.

Claire requested:

No direct contact from Vivian.

No entry into our temporary residence.

No unsupervised access to Noah.

No directing household or security staff regarding Claire or Noah.

No interference with medication, medical appointments, or communications with clinicians.

The judge granted temporary relief pending hearing.

Vivian’s attorney objected to the phrase:

interference with medication.

"Mrs. Harcourt is not a medical provider."

Exactly.

The judge kept it.

Vivian called me through her lawyer afterward.

"Your wife is turning me into a criminal."

I answered:

"No. She asked for boundaries."

"You are letting her humiliate me."

I almost started arguing.

Then:

"Talk through counsel."

I hung up.

That was growth.

May you like

Small.

Unpleasant.
