Chapter 20 - TRAVIS ACCEPTS DIVERSION
Travis eventually took the plea structure.
He did not plead to a felony.
He admitted:
He intentionally struck me during an argument.
The strike was not self-defense.
He used violence after I refused a marital/governance demand.
He understood the conduct was unacceptable.
Conditions:
Domestic-violence intervention program.
Probationary supervision.
No unlawful contact.
Restitution for my medical evaluation and the damaged earring repair.
No new offenses.
Limited direct communication through agreed channels during divorce.
Successful completion could reduce or dismiss the misdemeanor charge under the jurisdiction’s diversion framework.
I did not celebrate.
It was proportionate.
That was enough.
Then Raymond called me.
“Are you satisfied?”
“No.”
“What more do you want?”
“I don’t want more punishment.”
He frowned.
“Then what?”

“For you to stop asking what outcome would satisfy you.”
That conversation ended quickly.
