He was older.
Gray at the temples.
No Mercer management rights.
No fiduciary authority.
Restitution largely paid through forfeitures and permitted asset sales.
His prison record showed treatment, education, and no serious disciplinary problems in later years.
Victim statements were optional.
I submitted one.
“I do not oppose lawful review. I request permanent no contact with me. Contact with our adult children should be entirely their choice.”
Eli submitted:
“I may maintain limited contact.”
June:
“I do not want contact.”
Rose:
“I will decide privately.”
Three children.
One father.
No unified verdict required.
Luke was eventually released under strict supervision.
No corporate governance.
No work involving fiduciary assets.
No contact with me.
He moved to a modest apartment in another state.
Eli saw him once.
June never did.
Rose eventually met him twice.
None called it reconciliation.
Luke lived with consequences outside prison.
