Chapter 21 - GAVIN BECOMES A FATHER THROUGH A COURT ORDER, NOT A HOSPITAL DOOR
Gavin was notified of Livia’s birth through legal channels.
No direct hospital access.
No automatic nursery visit.
The protective order covered Bianca.
Family court separately addressed newborn contact.
Biological parentage was not disputed.
Gavin remained Livia’s father.
Criminal allegations did not magically erase that.
Bianca hated hearing it.
Still true.
Initial order:
No direct contact with Bianca.
No unsupervised contact with Livia.
Any visit at a professional family center after psychological assessment and only when medically appropriate for a newborn.
No Lenora present.
No financial discussions during child contact.
No photographing documents or medical bands.
The last one felt unnecessary.
Bianca wanted it anyway.
Then Gavin asked for immediate visitation.
Court granted a short supervised session after Livia was several weeks old and Bianca’s pediatrician confirmed transport was reasonable.
Bianca cried the night before.
“I don’t want him touching her.”
Her attorney said:
“The order allows it under supervision.”
I wanted to call the judge.
Bianca looked at me.
“Don’t.”

She went through process.
The first visit lasted forty-five minutes.
Supervisor notes:
Gavin arrived on time.
Followed feeding instruction.
Held infant appropriately.
Did not discuss litigation.
No safety incident.
That did not make him a good husband.
It did not erase criminal evidence.
It meant one supervised visit was safe.
