Chapter 19 - LENORA’S ACCOUNTING

Lenora had not received secret millions from Gavin’s plan.

No hidden offshore account.

No need.

Her benefit would have come through control of Rusk Family Capital Management.

Gavin owned seventy percent.

Lenora thirty.

The management authorization would have directed future family investment work there.

Fees proposed:

One percent annual management fee on certain managed assets.

If forty million ever came under management, that could be significant.

But it had not happened.

No fee earned.

No theft completed.

The financial motive was prospective.

Then current money.

Gavin had already paid his company approximately $24,000 in “family planning consulting” from the joint marital account over eight months.

Bianca had not understood those payments.

Were they illegal?

Not automatically.

Joint account.

Marital spending.

But the services were partly personal to Gavin.

Family court would classify later.

No giant embezzlement.

Then Lenora’s ownership of Rusk Capital explained urgency.

She was not only an intrusive mother.

She stood to benefit economically if the plan worked.

That supported motive.

Still, her deeper motive remained:

Her son must never become subordinate to Orsini wealth.

Money and pride aligned.

Most dangerous motives do.
