Chapter 25 - DUSTIN AND MEADOW

Dustin saw Meadow in supervised therapy.
First visit:
She would not look at him.
Second:
She asked:
“Why did you close the door?”
He cried.
“Because I thought Grandma was helping.”
She stared.
“No.”
He corrected.
“Because I wanted Grandma to make you do what I wanted.”
Better.
“Why?”
“I was scared.”
“Of me?”
“No.”
“Mom?”
“Of losing control of everything.”
Meadow frowned.
“That’s not my job.”
The therapist did not need to add anything.
Dustin nodded.
“No.”
It took another year before visits became unsupervised for several hours.
No overnights.
