Chapter 10 - MY ASSAULT

My criminal attorney was Samuel Reed.
He watched the video.
Then watched my retaliation.
I looked worse than I remembered.
Not because Judith looked innocent.
She didn’t.
Because once Meadow was behind me, I chose to go back.
Slap.
Collar.
Clippers.
Samuel paused.
“This is your problem.”
“I know.”
“You were no longer stopping her from shaving Meadow.”
“I know.”
“You were punishing her.”
“Yes.”
“Good.”
“What?”
“Do not become one of those clients who makes me spend six months arguing with denial.”
I almost smiled.
“Could I go to jail?”
“Possible. Not likely given no prior record, limited injury, extraordinary provocation, and your cooperation. But possible.”
“What about custody?”
“Family court cares.”
I closed my eyes.
Exactly what Dustin and Judith might have wanted.

A violent reaction.
