Chapter 9 - THE TABLE VIDEO

Sylvia had cameras.

Of course.

Dining room.

Kitchen.

Front entrance.

Security system.

The video showed Nina entering barefoot.

Showed Sylvia’s comment.

Charles’s.

Vivian’s.

Then me flipping the table.

Charles’s lawyer loved that part.

At the emergency trust hearing, he played it.

Rachel Mercer overturns furniture during family dinner.

Aggressive.

Emotionally volatile.

Potentially unsafe family representative.

My attorney did not object to reality.

Naomi asked:

“Ms. Mercer, did you flip the table?”

“Yes.”

“Was that appropriate?”

“No.”

“Did anyone physically threaten you?”

“No.”

“Did you damage property?”

“Yes.”

“Do you accept responsibility?”

“Yes.”

Charles’s lawyer looked almost disappointed.

Then Naomi played the preceding six minutes.

Sylvia taking Nina’s smartwatch.

Nina asking for her clothes.

Charles calling them cheap.

Vivian repeating adult language.

Context did not erase my conduct.

May you like

It complicated their narrative.

Good.
