Laura carried anger differently.
She never smashed anything.
That did not mean she was automatically healthier.
For two years she checked every product recall obsessively.
Car seat.
Helmet.
Food.
Toy paint.
Stroller.
If a safety email arrived, she could not sleep.
Dr. Morris called it hypervigilance.
Laura hated the word.
“I’m informed.”
“Sometimes.”
“What’s the difference?”
“Whether information helps you make a decision or keeps you trapped in checking.”
We learned together.
Safety mattered.
