Chapter 25 - ELARA’S WORK

Elara did not join Harbor Crest.
Of course.
She became a labor attorney.
Everyone tried to call it destiny.
She hated that.
“I like employment law.”
Fine.
She represented nurses.
Hospitals.
Sometimes companies.
Sometimes workers.
Conflict fascinated her.
She remained a trust beneficiary.
Attended governance sessions.
Asked sharp questions.
Once she voted through consultation to sell a legacy rehabilitation property everyone sentimentalized.
Callan asked:
“Grandpa built that.”
Elara answered:
“He also wrote that buildings aren’t ethics.”
Fair.
The sale funded three new outpatient centers.
