Chapter 23 - GRAHAM’S FUND

The Independent Household Continuity Fund outlived the crisis.
What should happen to it?
By Graham’s terms, once coercion risk ended and both descendant branches activated, trustees could repurpose remaining assets.
Balance after years of legal support and housing:
$9.4 million.
Callan and Mara could not simply withdraw it.
Good.
Trustees asked descendants for recommendations.
Elara proposed:
Postpartum legal and housing independence grants for employees and caregivers facing family coercion.
Not only wealthy families.
Elliot proposed:
Emergency eldercare support for workers who might otherwise become financially dependent on relatives.
The fund expanded mission.
No Graham statue.
No Sabina Shame Center.
Just services.
I liked that.

Some of the money that once existed because one wealthy woman might use housing as leverage now helped people without apartments, lawyers, or family trusts.
Useful evolution.
