Chapter 24 - No Contact

Cade did not see Lenora for another year.
She wrote letters.
We held them.
Dr. Cole reviewed.
First was bad.
I’m sorry you were frightened, but Grandma was trying to help.
No.
Not delivered.
Second:
I am sorry I pushed you.
Better.
Then:
I should have given your vest back when you asked.
Good.
Then:
Your dad did not tell me to push you.
Excellent.
Then:
He did ask me to work on your fear, but I was responsible for how I did that.
There.
Delivered.
Cade listened.
“Again.”
I reread.
He asked:
“Daddy told?”
“Yes.”
“Grandma chose push?”
“Yes.”
“Mom kicked?”
“Yes.”
He sighed.
“Everybody chose.”
Basically.
Then:
“Do I answer?”
“Only if you want.”
He did not.
Three months later, he drew a picture.
Beach.
Tiny person on sand.
Orange vest.
He wrote:
I can wear it.
We sent.
Lenora replied:
Yes.
May you like
Nothing more.
That was correct.
