Rhea wrote Perrin when he was eighteen.
Through counsel.
He chose to read.
I was afraid of you because you were the only person in that house who knew the truth and had no reason to protect my lie.
Perrin stopped.
“That’s intense.”
Yes.
Then:
You were four. I treated your honesty like danger.
Then:
I am sorry that when you asked whether your father would find you, I made you believe he might not.
Perrin looked at me.
“She admits saying it.”
“Yes.”
That settled something evidence never fully could.
He continued.
I do not expect forgiveness.

He never answered.
