Chapter 12 - THE FORGED REJECTION

The letter used agency letterhead.
Old logo.
Real address.
Fake signature.
Frank admitted creating it.
Eventually.
At first:
“Someone at the office gave it to me.”
Then digital forensics found the file on an old laptop.
Created by Frank.
Why go that far?
He said:
“Diane kept asking.”
That was not enough.
The fake rejection was created shortly after Evelyn’s health began declining.
Three years before the trust certification.
Frank knew estate planning was coming.
Did he already understand Emily could qualify?
His attorney said no proof.
True.
Then investigators found an email from Evelyn’s lawyer to Frank.
Subject:
Diane descendant clarification.
Frank,
Evelyn wants confirmation whether the child Diane placed for adoption remains living. Under the proposed instrument, biological descendants remain included unless expressly excluded.
Date:
Eight months before the fake agency letter.
