Chapter 18 - VANESSA’S CONSEQUENCES

Vanessa was never charged with the trench.
Evidence did not support it.
She did face corporate consequences.
The audit found she knew about Daniel’s plan to accelerate the North Meridian vote.
She knew he was documenting my “instability.”
She claimed she believed it reflected genuine marital concern.
Messages showed skepticism.
Not enough to prove she joined forgery.
The board removed her from governance for failing to disclose conflicts and for supporting a transaction while holding side compensation.
Regulators imposed civil penalties.
She resigned.
Kept lawful shares.
No prison for being unpleasant.
No family curse.
She later wrote me:
I treated your pregnancy as a governance event because that is how our father taught us to look at family.
I did not tell Daniel to hurt you. I also did not ask enough questions when his plan required you to become less powerful.
That is mine.
Good letter.
I did not respond for two years.
Then one line:

I read it.
Enough.
