Chapter 21 - OSRIC AT EIGHTEEN

Osric’s first adult trust meeting lasted thirty-eight minutes.
He wore sneakers.
Asked whether he could leave early.
The trustee said yes.
He stayed.
They explained:
He had a vested descendant interest.
Not an account he could empty.
Not ownership of family property.
Not authority over cousins.
He had:
Economic protections.
Education support.
Future discretionary distributions.
Information rights.
Independent fiduciary safeguards.
Osric asked:
“Can I buy a restaurant?”
“With your own money or approved distributions under appropriate circumstances.”
“Can Cousin stop me?”
“No.”
“Can I stop her?”
“No.”
“Excellent.”
He studied industrial design.
Not hospitality.
Not law.
Not psychology.
People tried to connect his career to serving trays.
He rolled his eyes.
