Dr. Mercer denied being paid to lie.
She said Chloe retained her to consult on reputational risk and later requested an opinion based on old treatment records.
Medical regulators disagreed with the boundary.
My private journal had been supplied without consent.
The affidavit implied a current diagnosis unsupported by examination.
Her license was suspended pending proceedings.
She surrendered emails.
Chloe had written:
We need language connecting Victoria’s kidnapping history to unreliable perception.
Julian replied:
Do not say psychosis. Say hypervigilance and irrational flight risk.
Eleanor added:
The father will confirm instability if cornered.

Lily’s therapy continued.
She stopped asking whether Chloe would become her mother.
She began asking whether Julian was still her father.
“Yes,” I said.
“Even if he’s bad?”
“He is still your father. What he did can still be wrong.”
“Do I have to love him?”
“No one can order a feeling.”
“Do I have to see him?”
“The court will decide safety. You will be heard in ways that protect you.”
She touched the gap in her teeth.
“Will they grow back?”
“Your grown-up teeth are still coming.”
Her body carried a timeline beyond the case.
The prosecution offered Julian a plea if he admitted the custody and financial conspiracy.
He refused.
He insisted I had orchestrated everything with Gabriel.
Eleanor requested a separate trial and offered partial cooperation against Chloe.
Prosecutors rejected any agreement that minimized her own role.
Then Maria, the housekeeper who withdrew her statement, returned.
Her husband had found new employment outside Sterling housing.
