Chapter 24 - JULIAN’S APOLOGY

Julian apologized many times.

Most early apologies centered him.

I’m sorry I lost you.

I’m sorry I listened to Mom.

I’m sorry everything collapsed.

Years later, he finally said:

“I’m sorry I watched Lily bleed and thought first about what your reaction would cost me.”

That was the apology I believed.

Not because it healed everything.

Because it named the moment accurately.

I said:

“Thank you.”

He did not ask:

Do you forgive me?

He had learned not to turn confession into a demand.

Our co-parenting became calm.

He attended Lily’s graduation.

Sat two rows behind me.

My father sat beside me.

No one fought.
