Chapter 14 - TREVOR’S PLEA
Trevor eventually accepted a plea.
The evidence of his knowledge after Noah’s earlier lethargy was too strong.
His internet searches.
Messages.
Emma’s account.
His handling of the bottle.
His false statements.
He admitted:
He learned Judith had been adding a non-prescribed sedating medication to the twins’ bottles before the fatal night.
He knew it could be dangerous after researching.
He confronted Judith but did not report or remove her access.
He was present when she prepared bottles the fatal night.
He failed to ensure the babies did not receive contaminated feeds.
After discovering them unresponsive, he called emergency services.
He later allowed Judith to wash bottles and accepted one from her, which he hid in the garage.
He participated in post-death efforts to characterize me as unstable enough to delegate voting and childcare authority.
He did not plead guilty to intentionally harming the twins.
The prosecution did not claim intent.
His plea included:
Felony child endangerment.
Evidence tampering.
Obstruction.

His cooperation against Judith reduced sentencing exposure.
At plea hearing, the judge asked:
“Why did you not tell your wife?”
Trevor cried.
“Because I knew she would ban my mother from the house.”

The judge asked:
“And?”
Trevor whispered:
“I thought my mother would never truly hurt the babies.”
He chose his mother’s access over my right to know.

“Why hide the bottle?”
“I was afraid Rachel would think I killed them.”
Not:
I wanted to protect Mom.
Not only.
Self-preservation.
Grief.
Cowardice.
Everything.
Trevor received a substantial custodial sentence.
Shorter than Judith would face if convicted on both deaths.
No automatic life.
Supervised release.
Parenting-contact restrictions.
Fiduciary restrictions.
Restitution on financial counts where applicable.
I gave no victim statement at his plea.
I was not ready.
