The contingency document did not mean Evelyn planned to kill Ivy.

Calvin had revised it during my confinement and inserted language allowing Evelyn to certify the child’s death without independent review.
Richard’s original required hospital, state, and fiduciary confirmation.
The revision removed safeguards.
Calvin claimed it was an unfinished draft.
Fragments from his cabin connected it to the forged waiver packet.
Ivy had survived.
The plan became evidence of how broadly they intended to control every possible outcome.
Dr. Patel reviewed hospital access logs.
Someone attempted to open Ivy’s chart six times from Calvin’s office after birth.

The attempts showed interest, not physical interference.

Martin was located two days later at a church shelter.
He had walked away from the cabin after Dean left him sedated.

He entered protective custody.
His first formal statement lasted six hours.

Evelyn told him the old enclosure would store valuable renovation materials.
He installed the padlock.

Martin doubted her.

He still followed orders for two days.

He looked at the floor.
“My pension. My house belonged to the estate. My wife’s medical care came through Carter Care.”
Evelyn controlled every structure keeping him stable.
“That explains why you were afraid.”
“Yes.”
“It does not explain why you left me there.”
“No.”
He did not ask forgiveness.
On the third day, he heard Evelyn cancel the ambulance after I began bleeding.
He recorded her.
He called Ethan directly.
Then Calvin arrived with Dean.
Martin tried to reach police.
Dean struck him and removed him from the estate.
Martin’s call brought Ethan home before they could move me.
His delay nearly cost Ivy’s life.
His final action helped save us.

Martin surrendered his pension claims to restitution review and accepted possible charges for unlawful confinement assistance.
Prosecutors considered coercion and cooperation.
Before entering protective housing, he gave Ruiz the location of one more record.
Richard had hidden an independent audit inside the old estate chapel.
