Chapter 20 - THE BABY’S NAME

Preston and I had chosen:
Julian Michael Reeves.
Months earlier.
After the kitchen, everyone assumed I would change it.
Dad suggested:
Julian Castellani.
I said no.
"Why?"
"Because I’m not naming a baby as punishment."
My legal surname was still Castellani-Reeves during divorce.
We could use Reeves.
Hyphenate.
Castellani.
Something else.
Preston had done terrible things.
That did not make his surname toxic property.
I kept the original plan.
Julian Michael Reeves.
Dad disliked it for approximately six minutes.
Then asked:
"Can I still buy him ridiculous shoes?"
"One pair."
May you like
He bought four.
