Chapter 25 - LIESL BECOMES A MOTHER

Liesl became a mother at thirty-five.
A son.
Micah.
He had mild asthma.
Of course.
Genetics has a sense of humor.
First time he needed an oxygen mask in emergency care, Liesl called me afterward.
“Dad.”
“What?”
“I almost panicked.”
“Did you?”
“Yes.”
“Did you interfere?”
“No.”
“Then panic is allowed.”
She laughed.
Micah recovered quickly.
No dramatic repeat.
No grandmother villain.
No trust fight.
Just medicine.
Liesl told the nurse:
“Please tell him before you touch the mask.”
The nurse did.
Micah nodded.
May you like
Control given appropriately.
That mattered.
