Chapter 24 - Constance Visits

Perry was nine when he asked to see Constance in our home.

Not her house.

Mine.

Two-hour lunch.

No supervision order remained, but I stayed.

Constance arrived.

She looked older.

No pearls that day.

Perry stared.

“Hi.”

“Hi.”

Then:

“Do you still have my room?”

At her house.

She had made a bedroom for him during custody plan.

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“I kept it.”

“Can you make office?”

Constance’s face changed.

“If you want.”

“I don’t want room.”

There.

She nodded.

“Okay.”

The next month she converted it to sewing room.

Did that hurt?

Probably.

She did it anyway.

Then Perry asked:

“Can I sleep there someday?”

Humans.

Constance almost laughed.

“Only if you want and your parents agree.”

“Maybe.”

May you like

Good.

The room no longer needed to wait for him like a claim.
