Chapter 16 - THE CRIMINAL CHARGES

Months later, Margaret was charged.
Not for denying Dany fries.
Not for favoritism generally.
Counts focused on:
Electronic identity misuse.
False financial statements.
Fiduciary fraud.
Conspiracy related to unauthorized collateral consents.
Obstruction after audit notices.
Chelsea faced narrower charges.
Graham faced professional discipline and false-certification allegations.
Lauren entered a cooperation agreement.
Margaret surrendered through counsel.
No raid.
No spectacle.
She called the prosecution “a family dispute criminalized by Lucy.”
I said nothing publicly.
Rachel told reporters:
“The evidence will be handled in court.”
Good.
I completed my own diversion for throwing the plate.
Anger classes.
Restitution for Margaret’s medical care.
No new offense.
Case dismissed according to program terms.
I did not call myself innocent.
Dany asked:
“Are you done with trouble?”
“I hope so.”
May you like
“Can we get fries?”
Apparently that would never die.
