Eleanor faced separate criminal proceedings.
The first concerned coercion, unlawful restraint, privacy violations, forged medical documents, and conspiracy to interfere with custodial and medical rights.
The second concerned trust fraud, corporate self-dealing, and the resort transaction.
Prosecutors did not charge attempted kidnapping because no completed removal of Julian occurred and evidence better supported planned custodial interference.
They did not charge attempted murder or physical assault beyond the conduct proved at the luncheon.

He played Sebastian flipping the table.
“Did you provoke your husband?”
“No.”
“Did you enjoy seeing him frighten the women?”
The honest answer was uncomfortable.
“For one second, yes.”
The courtroom quieted.
“Then you approved his violence.”
“No. I told him to stop.”
My truth did not need to make me emotionally pure.
Sebastian testified next.
He admitted ignoring years of class humiliation.
“I told Clara my mother needed time.”
“How much time?”
“Until the abuse became undeniable.”
“Why?”
“Because believing Clara earlier would have required confronting what my family gave me.”
Michael testified under cooperation.
He described the plan, payments, and forged consents.
His motives for cooperation were obvious.
Documents supported him.
Patricia testified too.
She admitted participating to protect her board position.
The jury convicted Eleanor of conspiracy, unlawful restraint, identity-related forgery, illegal medical-record access, witness manipulation, attempted custodial interference, and obstruction.
It acquitted her of one count alleging direct physical injury because the prosecution could not prove which bruises came from Eleanor rather than prolonged kneeling and other participants’ actions.
