Chapter 18 - MARA LEAVES

Mara eventually filed for divorce from Nolan.
Not because I told her to.
She said:
“I spent eight years wondering whether agreeing that night was the price of being loved.”
Nolan apologized.
He had pressured her.
He had not locked her in.
He had not hit her.
He had participated in the ritual.
Their divorce settled privately.
Mara challenged her old waiver.
Court partially invalidated it because disclosure had been incomplete and circumstances coercive.
Not all provisions void.
Confidentiality narrowed.
Financial waiver adjusted.
She received a fair settlement.
She later founded nothing.
No nonprofit.
No public crusade.
She returned to veterinary medicine.
