Our marriage lasted legally eleven months.
Emotionally, six hours.
I filed for divorce.
Not annulment.
Rachel explained:
Fraud about family culture and coercive intent could support arguments, but proving marriage itself void was uncertain.
I chose the cleaner legal path.
Gregory did not contest dissolution after conviction.
Property division was simple because of prenup and short marriage.
My business stayed mine.
His pre-marital assets stayed his subject to criminal and civil obligations.
No alimony.
No shared house.
Wedding gifts?
Returned where practical.
Some charitable donations.
My dress remained in evidence briefly because photographs and fibers were relevant.
Then returned.
I donated it to a theater costume program.
Not symbolic.
