Sloan replied:

A trail camera captured two Green Haven contractors collecting the pregnant adult female under her supervision.
The contractors claimed they were performing a rescue after road construction threatened the den.
No road construction occurred.
Evelyn signed a false mortality report days later.
The adult and offspring entered the illegal inventory.
Buyer messages referred to Evelyn as “the Keeper.”
One buyer asked whether the final nursery pair would survive child transport.
The Keeper replied:
They always do if the child obeys.
The account was accessed from Evelyn’s private tablet.
Digital experts authenticated the device.
The language mirrored Greg’s instructions to Lily.
Obedience had been built into the commercial method.
At home, Lily moved into Elena’s supervised apartment full-time under a trial reunification order.
The first morning, Elena placed three pairs of shoes by the door.
Sneakers.
Sandals.
Soft winter boots.
Lily pushed the boots into the closet.
Elena did not take them back out.
Weeks later rain flooded the sidewalk.
Lily wore sandals and arrived at school with wet feet.
Elena packed dry socks.
She did not say I told you so.

Then Lily asked whether she could see Greg before trial.

“No.”
“You said one trip would fix everything.”
“I was wrong.”
“Did you love me?”
“Yes.”
Lily’s expression hardened.
“Then love didn’t stop you.”
Greg lowered his head.
“No.”
She ended the meeting.
Outside, she told Elena:
