His office computer had been accessible to three assistants and connected remotely to Mercer’s medical network.
The metadata still damaged him.
Evelyn demanded his removal as trust medical adviser.
The judge refused until forensic review ended.
The complete evidence now revealed the central conspiracy.
Project Harbor would transfer Mercer Adaptive Technologies and the clinic network to a buyer controlled jointly by Cross Meridian and a foreign healthcare conglomerate.
The StepAssist liabilities would remain inside an underfunded subsidiary.
The rehabilitation clinics, patient data, patents, and reimbursement contracts would move into a new company.
Evelyn and Madison would receive protected equity.
Julian would collect management fees and avoid his firm’s default.
My trust veto was the only vote that could stop the separation.
My father created it after discovering Evelyn intended to restart StepAssist without disclosing the prototype history.
He concealed the veto’s significance because he feared pressure against me.
His secrecy made me easier to deceive.
Evelyn’s plan had three levels.
First, persuade me to sign Project Harbor during the wedding dinner.
Second, provoke a public emotional reaction and use edited recordings to claim instability.
Third, if I remained calm, use the staged fall, forged declaration, and false medical reports to activate Madison’s temporary authority.
Madison agreed to pull the chair.
She expected humiliation and a dramatic fall.
She knew my medical capacity would be challenged afterward.
She claimed she never intended nerve damage.
Intention did not repair my foot.
The ballroom footage had been copied onto a portable drive before deletion.
Julian took the drive.
Caroline did not know where he placed it.
The report from Samuel’s computer was part of the prepared media package.
Forensic analysis found the remote login originated from Evelyn’s foundation office.
Samuel was cleared of authorship.
He was not cleared of every moral failure.
He had known Dad created a hidden safety veto.
He had withheld it from me until the vote opened.
“You helped him keep me ignorant,” I said.
“He believed knowledge would make you a target.”
“I became one without the knowledge.”
Samuel nodded.
“He was wrong. I was wrong to follow him.”
The court suspended Project Harbor indefinitely and appointed a receiver over the trust assets.
Evelyn, Madison, and Julian lost authority.
Mercer Adaptive Technologies announced an independent StepAssist review.
Clinics paused use of the device.
Patients demanded answers.
The company’s lenders warned that a full recall could trigger insolvency.
Employees feared losing jobs.
The truth did not arrive as a clean victory.

Madison was arrested for aggravated assault and conspiracy to fabricate evidence.
Evelyn faced identity fraud, witness tampering, fiduciary misconduct, and conspiracy charges.
Julian remained under investigation.
His attorneys argued he participated only in financing, not violence.
Then police searched the newlyweds’ hotel suite.
Inside Julian’s locked briefcase was the copied ballroom drive.
The video showed Madison pulling the chair.
It also showed Evelyn placing one hand against Madison’s back immediately beforehand.
