Sienna Rhodes worked as a junior events coordinator for Vale Development.
She grew up outside Rockford, attended community college, and supported a mother with chronic illness.
Adrian met her during planning for a hotel-launch gala.
He told her he and I had separated privately.
He said public divorce had been delayed because my pregnancy was medically fragile and the press would accuse him of abandoning me.
Sienna believed parts because Adrian created evidence.
A guest bedroom staged as his sleeping space.
Messages from a second phone.
A draft separation agreement carrying my forged initials.
Photographs of me entering Naomi’s office, presented as divorce meetings.
He told Sienna the baby I carried had been conceived through a donor after our marriage had ended.
That was why, he claimed, Eliana was not a “true Vale heir.”
His cruelty at the shower had sounded like a family declaration.
To Sienna, it was supposed to be confirmation of a separation story.
She had not expected violence.
She had not known about the forged documents beneath the gift table.
Police interviewed her at the estate.
She requested an attorney after learning Adrian might be charged with serious offenses.
That was appropriate.
Later, through counsel, she surrendered her phone.
The messages revealed manipulation and complicity in different proportions.
Sienna knew Adrian was legally married.
She knew I was pregnant.
She believed the relationship was over.
She agreed to attend my baby shower despite understanding the humiliation it would cause.
That choice belonged to her.
The violence did not.
Her phone contained a message sent by Celeste two days before the party:
Wear red. The contrast against Mara’s pale decorations will photograph beautifully.
Sienna:
Should I really be there?
Celeste:
The family must see the future.
Sienna:
Adrian says Mara knows.
Celeste:
Mara knows more than she admits.
Another message concerned documents.
Celeste:
Bring your signed maternal acknowledgment.
Sienna:
Is that the hospital form?
Celeste:
Routine legacy planning.
Sienna had signed a document believing it ensured Adrian would be recognized as father and provide financial support.
The actual document appointed Celeste temporary guardian of Sienna’s child immediately after birth if Sienna suffered “emotional instability, financial incapacity, or reputational conduct inconsistent with Vale family standards.”
A second clause authorized private residential treatment selected by Celeste.
Sienna had initialed every page.
The signature was hers.
Her understanding was not.
When Naomi read the document at the hospital, she said:
“They planned to control both babies.”
“Why?”
“Eliana gives Adrian potential access to your trust through custody and guardianship arguments if you’re incapacitated. Sienna’s baby gives the Vales the male heir they want for public succession.”
“What happens to Sienna?”
Naomi tapped the treatment clause.
“They remove her.”
