He claimed the camera had malfunctioned.
The cloud provider’s records showed manual deletion twenty-three minutes after the ambulance left.
Deletion did not erase the archived copy immediately.
The recovered video showed the entire incident.
Ethan following the football.
Tyler lifting the rod.
My father saying:
“Keep him away from those plants.”
Tyler answering:
“I’ll teach him.”
Then the swing.
The camera angle showed Tyler’s face.
He was smiling before impact.
The smile vanished when Ethan screamed.
The act may have begun as intimidation rather than a plan to fracture the leg.
It was still deliberate.
The footage continued.
While I knelt beside Ethan, my mother approached Tyler.
“Say he came at you.”
Tyler looked toward her.
“He didn’t.”
“It doesn’t matter. He was warned.”
Frank joined them.
“The rod slipped while you blocked him.”
Then my father walked to the patio table, opened his laptop, and began typing the incident statement.
Before paramedics arrived.
Before anyone asked Ethan what happened.
Before a doctor assessed the injury.
The story had been created at 3:16 p.m.
The ambulance arrived at 3:22.
At 3:29, after Ethan was loaded, Frank entered the security application and attempted to delete the clip.
At 3:41, my mother sent a family-group message:
Everyone remember: Ethan rushed Tyler after being warned. No one speculates beyond that.
Several relatives replied with thumbs-up symbols.
Not all had seen the incident.
They agreed anyway.
The deletion and coordination expanded the investigation.
Tyler faced potential charges related to assault and child endangerment.
My parents faced scrutiny for evidence tampering, obstruction, and witness coordination.
The family’s laughter ended.
My mother called Mara.
She offered to withdraw from visitation for six months if I agreed not to use the older incidents in court.
Mara answered:
“Contact must proceed through counsel. Aaron will not trade child-safety evidence for temporary peace.”
Frank sent me a message:
Your mother is sick over this. You’re punishing her for loving Tyler.
I replied once:
