Sentencing drew victims from several directions.
Clinic patients whose embryos required verification.
Employees whose projects collapsed.
Trust beneficiaries.
Kelsey.
Me.
Samuel’s guardian.
Eleanor’s guardian ad litem.
The court prevented children from becoming props.
No photographs appeared.
Kelsey spoke first.
“You told me carrying your son made me chosen. You did not tell me I was carrying another woman’s stolen embryo. When I began to doubt you, you reminded me my mother’s house depended on your money.”
She admitted her own cruelty.
“I helped humiliate Claire because hurting her made the lie easier to live inside.”
My statement focused on consent.
“Grant treated marriage as ownership over my signature, my medical history, my embryo, and my future children. He treated Kelsey’s body as transportation for a financial instrument. He treated Samuel as a voting share before he had lungs.”
I also named my failure.
“I allowed my father and husband to compete for control while I avoided documents that concerned my own life.”
Evelyn’s charities submitted evidence of legitimate work.

Those acts remained real.
They did not erase the conspiracy.
