At 7.5 seconds after entering the bedroom, Tate looked toward Daniel and said quietly, “You said she didn’t know the number.”

Daniel answered, “Rachel taught her.”

Tate had prior knowledge.

He was arrested on obstruction, misconduct, and conspiracy allegations after a judge found probable cause based on combined evidence. More serious charges depended on Rachel’s testimony and corroboration.

He pleaded not guilty.

His attorney said Rachel had been drugged, traumatized, and influenced by seeing Tate in news coverage.

Ellis took the betrayal personally.

Vance stopped him.

“He stood beside me.”

“He loved Avery,” Rachel said.

Vance did not respond.

“He loved being needed by her,” Rachel corrected herself.
